OUTREACH PROJECT

Aims and objectives

Offer and facilitate access to activities and services that are culturally relevant and accessible to families, their children and the young people they care for;

Organise and promote events, training and group workshops, that will inform parents/caregivers about their local support services;

Encourage and support parents/caregivers to work alongside professionals, counsellors and alternative health specialists, to develop their understanding and to access support that is relevant for them, their children and the young people they care for.

Youth Engagement


Weekly respite provision will be offered to children and young people whose
families formally register with the project.

Centre-based activities will be available for to up to 20 young people, once a week, for a minimum of three hours.

A maximum of 15 young people will be able to take part in sessions that are planned to take place away from the centre, for the safety of all participants.

Children and young people will

1. Develop in confidence,
2. improve social skills and;
3. engage in activities that will help to reduce social isolation.

Older young people will have

1. Opportunities to engage in activities that help prepare them as they
transition towards independence,
2. Explore wider volunteering, education and training opportunities and;

3. Work alongside disability enablement teams and wider community and social care agencies.
